Plask privacy policy

Effective September 4, 2026

The short version: the Plask app collects nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. Your swim history stays on your watch and in your own private iCloud — we could not read it if we wanted to. This website counts anonymous visits, and nothing more.

Data collection

The Plask app does not collect any personal data. The app has no sign-in and no analytics or tracking libraries, and it sends nothing to us or to any third party. The only thing that ever leaves your watch is the sync described below, and it goes exclusively to your own iCloud account.

Depth and sensor data

On watches with a depth sensor, Plask reads your current depth and water temperature from watchOS while the app is on screen and uses the values to animate the scene and show the readouts. When a swim ends, Plask keeps a small summary of it — when it happened, how long you were under, maximum depth, water temperature range, which scene was on screen — as part of your achievements archive. Individual sensor readings are discarded; only these session summaries are kept.

Achievements and swim history

Your certificates from Kungliga Badverket, their counters, your recent session summaries and your companion duck’s own record — what it has been given, the documents it has filed and how long it has known you — are stored on your watch and mirrored to iCloud key-value storage in your own private iCloud account, so a new watch or a reinstall gets your archive back. This sync is operated by Apple, tied to your Apple Account, and readable by your devices only: it never passes through servers we operate (we operate none), and we have no way to access it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's privacy policy. Deleting the app deletes the on-watch archive; the iCloud copy stays in your iCloud so a reinstall can restore your certificates.

Notifications

Plask can post a local notification when a swim report went unseen. These are generated entirely on your watch, are optional, and can be turned off in Plask’s settings. Nothing about them touches the network.

Settings

Your preferences (chosen scene, duck color, hat, units and gauge toggle) are stored locally on your watch and nowhere else. Deleting the app deletes them.

Purchases

The Plask Premium unlock is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's privacy policy.

This website

plask.info counts visits using Cloudflare Web Analytics: how many people arrive, which pages they open, roughly which country they are in, and which site linked them here. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, it assigns you no identifier and builds no profile, and it cannot follow you to other sites. Nothing in it can single you out — which is why this site asks you to dismiss no cookie banner. It is measurement of the website only and can see nothing about your use of the app. Cloudflare processes this on our behalf; their practices are described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Children

The Plask app collects no data from anyone, children included. The iCloud sync above stores data only in the account holder’s own iCloud, and the website measurement identifies nobody of any age.

Changes

If Plask ever changes in a way that affects privacy, this page will be updated first and the effective date above will change.
